Adult Discipleship

Responsibilities:  Facilitate learning environments (small groups, Bible Studies, etc.) to help persons grow in their faith.
Spiritual Gifts:  Administration/Leadership; Exhortation/Encouragement; Pastor-Teaching (Shepherding)
Schedule:  2-4 hours planning and execution per week
Length of commitment:  Length of course

Responsibilities:  Work in the Media Center circulating materials and assisting patrons.  May process new materials or prepare overdue reminders.  May decorate Media Center or write promotional articles.  Training provided.

Children’s Ministry

Responsibilities:  Inspire a safe, trusting and Christ-led environment as you co-lead a “Dig In” Bible lesson that has been created by the Director of Children’s Ministries

Schedule:  Sunday 9:15-10:45 am (one Sunday per month).  Preview and prep lesson.  Safe Sanctuary training and background check required.
Length of commitment:  1 year

Responsibilities:  Model Christ-like love to the youngest in our care by loving and caring for both children and their families.  Provide or assist with child-care for children aged 0-5 (snuggle with the babies, play and engage with older children).  Or present or assist with a (provided) Bible centered lesson for ages 2-5.  Assistant must be 9th grade or above.

Responsibilities:  Provide childcare for MOP’s preschool children.

Responsibilities:  Lead a small group of kids through Bible exploration, recreation, snacks, art, music and drama stations.  Volunteers must be 7th grade or above.

Congregational Care

Responsibilities:  Stephen Ministry provides a one-on-one caring ministry by trained lay members of our congregation.  It is an extension but not a replacement of pastoral care for those experiencing difficult circumstances in their lives.  Training provided.
Spiritual Gifts:  Exhortation (Encouragement); Faith; Intercession; Mercy/Compassion; Pastor-Teacher
Schedule:  50 hours of training, then 5 hours per month in continuing education and supervision.  Approximately 4 hours monthly meeting with care receiver.
Length of commitment:  2 years – Renewable one year at a time

Music and Fine Arts Ministry

Play and Praise: Three year old can expect to have non-stop fun learning musical and spiritual concepts through this creative classroom experience. The class uses a multi-sensory approach to learning that 3 year old and parents alike will enjoy.  Class time is each Wednesday from 5:30pm to 5:55pm, September through May, in S-311.

Cherubs: Children, age 4, form this choir. These children sing in worship and special productions. Rehearsals are each Wednesday from 6:00pm to 6:45pm, September through May, in S-311.

Angels: Children age 5/K form this choir. These children sing in worship and special productions. Rehearsals are each Wednesday from 6:00pm to 6:45pm,  September through May, in S-311.

Archangels: This choir consists of first and second graders. They sing in worship and special productions. Rehearsals are each Wednesday from 5:30pm to 6:15, September through May, in S-200.

Gabriels: This choir consists of children in grades 3-5. They sing in worship and special productions. Rehearsals are each Wednesday from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, September through May, in S-200.

Responsibilities: Assist children’s choir director during rehearsals and during performances.  Please specify choir and/or age group.

Responsibilities: Be a part of special productions, plays and church activities as needed.  Positions are available for actors, costumers, lighting, props, scenery and sets, and make-up volunteers.  Please indicate your talent or area of interest and you will be contacted as needed.

Responsibilities: Beginning and Advanced ringers (senior high youth and adult) with musical and/or ringing experience.  The ensemble meets on Thursdays from 5:45pm – 7:15pm, September through May, in room S-201.

Responsibilities: Instrumentalists are welcome to participate in special programs or the Sanctuary Orchestra.  The Sanctuary Orchestra is open to all instrumentalists (senior high youth and adults).  This ensemble provides a variety of literature used for preludes, offertories and postludes.  Additionally, the orchestra provides accompaniment to both choral and congregational singing.  Small ensembles are also occasionally formed from within the membership of the orchestra.  The ensemble meets on Wednesdays from 7:45pm – 8:45pm in the Sanctuary.

Responsibilities: Leads songs on Sunday mornings (9:30 service) and dedicated to seeing people deepen their passion through worship which creates a culture of worship in our daily lives.

Responsibilities: Sanctuary Choir provides music each Sunday for the 11:00am worship service.  This choir presents several choral programs each year.  Rehearsals are held each Thursday 7:30pm – 9:00pm in the Choir Suite, S-201.

Responsibilities: The Youth praise band meets occasionally for rehearsal and leadership at Student Events and Sunday morning worship.  The band plays music from Chris Tomlin, Hillsong United, Jesus Culture, and many more.

Senior Ministry

Responsibilities: Seasoned, Energetic Adults help plan, organize, coordinate, and publicize monthly programs, day trips, devotions, and service opportunities.

Schedule: Meet as a team quarterly or as needed to plan and organize ahead.
Length of Commitment: 1 year minimum 

Responsibilities: Senior Adult In Need Team volunteer to send notes or cards to members of our congregation.

Schedule: As many hours as volunteer is available, dependent upon the need.
Suggested frequency is at least once per month.
Length of Commitment: 1 year 

Responsibilities: Senior Adult In Need Team volunteer to provide meals for senior members within our church in times of crisis.

Schedule: Time required is dependent upon the current needs of the congregation.
Length of Commitment: 1 year 

Responsibilities: Senior Adult In Need Team use your interests, gifts, and available time to connect with our “saints” by offering consistent (weekly/monthly) encouragement through engaging relationships with home-bound, and residents of assisted living and nursing homes.

Schedule: Consistent weekly or monthly visitation.
Length of Commitment: 1 year 

Responsibilities: Persons help design, plan, recruit volunteers, and carry out Senior Summer Camp, a “vacation Bible school” for Seniors.  This team is focused on design and planning but also task oriented as necsessary to carry out the event.

Schedule/Time Required:  Frequent planning meetings starting 6 months before event.

CREW Student Ministry

Responsibilities: Provide leadership which achieves the objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness qualities among youth by focusing on a vigorous program of activities.

Length of Commitment: 1 year

Responsibilities: Assist as needed at CREW meetings, Drive carpools of students to planned events.
