Serve in Recreation/Leisure

Do you have leadership or administrative skills and also enjoy being a team leader / coach of adult athletic teams?  Please consider serving as a coordinator for a recreational activity we sponsor.  In doing so, you will encourage a Christlike attitude and foster fellowship and good sportsmanship on athletic fields or gyms across the city!

Responsibilities:  Organize congregation members who are interested in playing co-ed softball.  Develop roster and practice schedule.  Register team with City Parks and Recreation.  Publicize game schedule with church office.  Coach all practices and games.  Encourage a Christlike attitude and good sportsmanship and behavior.  Communicate with players throughout the season.
Spiritual Gifts: Administration/Leadership
Schedule:    April through mid-July.
Length of Commitment:  One year.

The emphasis is on fellowship, encouragement, and building skills more than high-powered competition.  Even with this emphasis, the team has made it to the finals the past several years!

Responsibilities:  Organize congregation members who are interested in playing co-ed volleyball.  Develop roster and practice schedule.  Register team with City Parks and Recreation.  Reserve gym for practices.  Publicize game schedule with church office.  Coach all practices and games.  Encourage a Christlike attitude and good sportsmanship and behavior.  Communicate with players throughout the season.
Spiritual Gifts: Administration/Leadership
Schedule:  The season runs from January through March.  Practice one night per week during season.
Length of Commitment:  One year.

Responsibilities: Surf Ministry Coordinator – All skill levels are needed to help guide beginning surfers!  Catch beginning surfers in the surf, leas surfboards, and visit and invite ministry participants to church and fellowship.
Spiritual Gifts:
Schedule:  During the summer, Saturdays in July; 9:30 – 11:30 AM on 4th Street.
Length of Commitment:

Responsibilities:  Organize congregation members who are interested in playing men’s basketball.  Develop roster and practice schedule.  Register team with City Parks and Recreation.  Reserve gym for practices.  Publicize game schedule with church office.  Coach all practices and games.  Encourage a Christlike attitude and good sportsmanship and behavior.  Communicate with players throughout the season.
Spiritual Gifts: Administration/Leadership
Schedule:  The team plays games twice a week from January to March.  September through December there is one practice at night per week.
Length of Commitment:  One year.

Schedule:    The team meets for practice one night per week beginning in April.  Double-header games are played on Monday nights from May through mid-July.
Length of Commitment:  One year.
